48-year-old Harvard graduate Maia Sandu became the first woman elected to the post of President of the Republic of Moldova. In the second round of elections, she beat the incumbent President Igor Dodon, gaining more than 57 % of the vote.
Maia Sandu is the leader of the Action and solidarity party and supports EU integration. In 2019, she served as Prime Minister for some time. Now, as the sixth President of Moldova, he will lead this Republic for the next four years.
