Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to our country Vidhu Pithambaran Nair was received today in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the priorities of bilateral cooperation, including the development of inter-parliamentary relations in the context of a recent telephone conversation between the presidents of the two countries, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Ram Nath Kovind.

Recall that during the above-mentioned telephone conversation, the leaders of Turkmenistan and India stated that there is a solid potential for diversifying economic cooperation, including taking into account our country's course towards industrialization.

For its part, Turkmenistan is ready to provide Indian companies with the necessary support in implementing investment projects and invites them to consider the possibility of creating joint high-tech industries in such areas as agriculture, chemical, pharmaceutical, light industry and production of construction materials based on local raw materials.

Confirming the readiness to activate constructive Turkmen-Indian cooperation, the diplomat stressed that India supports the foreign policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the international initiatives put forward by him, especially noting the significance of the significant date for the world community – the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality status.

The Ambassador of the friendly state was familiarized with the structure and activities of the Supreme legislative body of our country. In this context, they stressed the need to exchange experience in law making, hold regular consultations and meetings that contribute to the activation of multi-faceted interstate cooperation, the State news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
