JSC "Demiryollary" will purchase two freight and passenger locomotives produced by JSC "Transmashholding". This is reported by the official website of the Turkmen railway company.

This month, an online ceremony of signing contracts between JSC “Demiryollary” and Russian locomotive manufacturers belonging to the Transmashholding holding-JSC “Kolomenskiy Plant” — for the supply of one unit of the TEP70BS diesel locomotive and JSC Bryansk machine — building plant management company — for the supply of one unit of the 2TE25 KM mainline diesel locomotive was held via videoconference.

During the videoconference, the parties expressed their mutual satisfaction with the established fruitful cooperation, and also expressed their intention to conclude contracts for the supply of spare parts and training of technical personnel in the future. In this regard, the possibility of organizing distance learning for Turkmen technical personnel was discussed.

“Transmashholding” JSC occupies a leading position in the Russian transport engineering market.

The modern passenger mainline diesel locomotive TEP70BS is designed for driving passenger trains of increased comfort on mainline Railways of 1520 mm gauge on non-electrified sections of Railways. The TEP70BS diesel locomotive is designed to meet modern environmental and traffic safety requirements.

Diesel locomotive 2TE25 KM — the first in Russia diesel locomotive 90% assembled from components of Russian production, is considered a product of import substitution. Technical characteristics allow 2TE25 KM to drive a train weighing up to 6.4 thousand tons. The use of diesel locomotives of this series makes it possible to increase the average weight of trains and increase the volume of cargo transportation while reducing operating costs.

Special attention is paid to ensuring the safety and comfortable working conditions of the locomotive crew.
