A Memorandum of cooperation on the implementation of the "Single window for export-import operations" project in Turkmenistan was signed

The signing ceremony of a Memorandum of understanding between the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), The United Nations conference on trade and development (UNCTAD) and the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on joint cooperation to promote the implementation of a Single window for export-import operations in Turkmenistan took place today at the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. This is reported in the press release of the UNDP.

During the ceremony, Mr. Rashid Meredov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ms. Mirjana Spoljaric, assistant UN Secretary-General, assistant UNDP administrator and regional Director for Europe and CIS and Mr. Mukhisa Kituyi, Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Secretary-General of UNCTAD confirmed the joint commitment to further cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan, UNDP and UNCTAD.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to strengthen cooperation between the parties in areas of common interest. Within the framework of the joint project "single window for export-import operations", the interested parties intend to activate digitalization, simplify and harmonize business processes for interdepartmental partnership and strengthen Turkmenistan's position in the global economic space.

Mirjana said Spolarich:

"This Memorandum of understanding is based on the established fruitful cooperation between the parties, but it is focused on the future: it will help strengthen the cooperation of UNDP with the Government of Turkmenistan and UNCTAD to continue supporting the digitalization of customs services."

The integrated customs information system "ASYCUDA World" was introduced into the system of the State customs service of Turkmenistan in cooperation with UNCTAD and with the active participation of UNDP.
