Ambassador of China to Turkmenistan, Sun Weidong, is completing his diplomatic mission. This is reported by the press service of the foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistanб Rashid Meredov, and Ambassador of China to Turkmenistan, Sun Weidong held a meeting in Turkmen MFA on September 22, 2020.
The sides stressed the need to intensify cooperation within the framework of the Turkmen-Chinese Committee on Cooperation on the trade-economic, transport, energy, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The parties noted the importance of strengthening political and diplomatic dialogue, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation. Positive cooperation in the framework of international organizations, in particular within the UN framework was also highlighted.
During the meeting, the Chinese Ambassador highlighted that work in Turkmenistan occupies a special place in his diplomatic career, as Turkmenistan and China are strategically important partners.
Sun Weidong was appointed China's Ambassador to Turkmenistan in October 2016.
