Turkmenistan discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on food security with participants of the FAO forum

Participants of the 35th meeting of the Food and agriculture organization of the United Nations (FAO) for the Middle East, which is taking place in Rome, discuss topical issues of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on food and agricultural security via videoconference.

Turkmenistan is represented in the forum by a representative delegation, which includes employees of the ministries of agriculture and environmental protection, health and medical industry, as well as foreign Affairs.

Despite the difficulties experienced by the world economy today due to the spread of the global coronavirus pandemic, Turkmenistan has taken all measures to ensure uninterrupted production and supply of necessary food to the country's population, the State news Agency reports.

The participants of the online meeting stressed the importance of regular exchange of experience, expressing their common interest in expanding international cooperation and developing joint actions to correct the current situation and mitigate the negative impact of the COVID-19 consequences.
