Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected cotton harvesting equipment of the world-famous John Deere company, which arrived in our country on the eve of the start of the" white winter", the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
In the morning, the Turkmen leader was met by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers E. Orazgeldiev, who oversees the agro-industrial complex, and Minister of agriculture and environmental protection M. Bayramdurdyev at the site where the above-mentioned new cotton harvesters were displayed. The Deputy Prime Minister reported on the information concerning the received agricultural machinery.
As you know, in the fall of 2018, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a visit to the United States to participate in the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, received the head of the American company John Deere-President of the division of agricultural and gardening equipment in Europe, the CIS, Asia and Africa, Mark von Pentz.
During the meeting, an interested exchange of views took place on the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation. The Turkmen leader noted the need to take into account the soil and climate conditions of our country in the manufacture of grain and cotton harvesters and tractors, focusing on the working features of this equipment.
Inspecting the new cotton harvesting machines, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov drew attention to the need for their effective use in order to organize the harvest and collect the raw crop without loss.
By the way, John Deere is one of the reliable long-term partners of Turkmen farmers. The world-famous American brand has been represented on the domestic market for more than 25 years. During the cooperation, about 8 thousand units of various agricultural machinery and equipment of this brand were delivered to our country.
In this context, we note that agricultural machines of all modifications arriving in Turkmenistan must pass preliminary testing for compliance with local soil and climatic conditions.
Earlier this year, John Deere has already received new models of agricultural machinery. Among them are seeders and tractors equipped with a telematics digital electronic control system, which have proven themselves well on agricultural land in our country. In particular, the implementation of mechanized work in the agricultural sector using advanced technologies and telematics makes it possible to process the soil in the most accurate way.
Recall that in August last year, on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a Memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection of Turkmenistan and the company "John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co. KG" on the introduction of a digital electronic control system in agricultural machinery and equipment in the agricultural industry for the period 2020-2030.
According to the document, in the next few years, high-performance special equipment of the John Deere and Claas brands purchased by our country will be equipped with telematics. This system allows you to track cars, in particular, their location, fuel consumption, actual operating time, loading and many other parameters, directly from the office, as well as from any place with Internet access or even from a mobile phone.
Based on the relevant decree of the President of Turkmenistan, our country received 600 units of new equipment in two stages. So, 300 cotton harvesters were received last year and distributed in accordance with the established procedure across the velayats. And by the beginning of the current "white harvest" received another 300 units of the above-mentioned machines.
Four-row harvester "John Deere 9970" – a modern model equipped with an engine of 250 horsepower, which is reliable in operation. Its productivity for 10 hours a day is on average 12 hectares, the volume of the bunker is 4 tons. Earlier, in 2017-2018, 400 units of similar harvesting machines were delivered to our country.
It is also noteworthy that John Deere agricultural machinery and equipment are also purchased by representatives of private businesses at the expense of a loan received from the Bank. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov adopted a corresponding Resolution in January this year to provide state financial support to entrepreneurs.
In General, the technical re-equipment of agriculture, the introduction of advanced technologies, digital precision farming systems that ensure high efficiency of agricultural production, is designed to contribute to the successful implementation of tasks for the economic development of regions, improving the welfare of the population.
Noting the need to continue paying unflagging attention to the issues of technical modernization and digitalization of the country's agriculture, the introduction of advanced technologies that ensure high production efficiency, the President of Turkmenistan gave the relevant leaders a number of specific instructions.
