The OSCE center in Ashgabat organized an online seminar on WTO membership, rights and obligations

A three-day online seminar organized by the OSCE Center is being held in Ashgabat. The topic of the seminar is "Membership in the world trade organization as a balance of rights and obligations". This is reported on the OSCE website.

The event is aimed at presenting the best practices of the OSCE participating States in the WTO negotiation process and will contribute to the discussion of possible steps to further expand the National trade policy.

"Our seminar today is an important example of the Center's integrated approach to strengthening regional dialogue and cooperation in the field of trade facilitation, and we intend to continue our constructive partnership aimed at strengthening economic security and stability," said Natalia Drozd, head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat.

Opening the seminar, Drozd congratulated Turkmenistan on obtaining observer status in the WTO.

"We initiated this seminar in support of Turkmenistan's consistent efforts to stimulate the development of the national economy and strengthen international cooperation, as well as to activate and optimize foreign trade and improve the investment climate," she said.

The seminar is attended by representatives of a number of ministries and financial institutions of Turkmenistan.

At the seminar, international experts from Georgia and Montenegro will talk about their countries ' experience of joining the WTO.
