Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine developed in Russia, writing in a blog on his website that "... the safety of the new vaccine is proven."

Now there are frequent doubts about the "precocity" of the Russian vaccine, in this connection, the mayor notes that it was created "not for a month or two". As proof, he cites the fact that Sputnik V was developed on a ready-made technological platform, which Russian scientists have been working on for a long time. Employees of the Gamalei

Center have been working on a universal approach to creating vaccines against various infectious diseases since the 1980s, Sobyanin reports. As a result, six vaccines have already been developed on the basis of this platform, which are at various stages of testing in Russia.

"Some may think that the introduction of such a vaccine is dangerous. But this is a wasted experience. The drug does not contain the coronavirus itself, which means that it is impossible to get sick with it or infect others," he wrote in a blog dedicated to vaccination against coronavirus and post – registration research.

Earlier, we reported that Russia will launch the first COVID-19 vaccine in the next two weeks.
