A number of enterprises of the textile industry of Turkmenistan are being transformed into joint stock companies

Deputy Prime Minister Ch. Gylydzhov reported on the ongoing work to transform a number of enterprises of the Ministry of textile industry into joint-stock companies at a Government meeting.

To this end, he noted, the list of objects subject to privatization was analyzed, including the Mary leather factory and the Baherden garment factory.

Due to outdated equipment at the Mary tannery, whose main function is to process and extract the skin of small and large cattle, its production capacity is used by 30 percent. In this regard, it is planned to reconstruct the enterprise, open and put into operation a sewing workshop. The project is planned to be implemented with the participation of private enterprise "Rovshen".

Ch. Gylydzhov also said that in order to modernize and expand the range of products, the Baherden garment factory is planned to be transformed into an open joint-stock company with the participation of the Ministry of textile industry and the private sector.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that the privatization of state property is intended to further promote the country's progressive transformations and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to make every effort to implement the planned plans, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
