The Russian Embassy in Ashgabat on its official website announced the preliminary results of the first stage of the competitive selection of citizens of Turkmenistan and compatriots permanently residing in Turkmenistan to study at budget places in Russian universities within the quota established by the Government of Russia in the 2020/2021 academic year.
According to the information, technical work is currently underway to verify the portfolios of pre-selected candidates, after which the preliminary lists will be finalized and sent to the Ministry of science and higher education of Russia for the second stage of selection (review of the portfolio by the universities indicated in the applications-questionnaires of selected candidates).
This year, 848 candidates applied for 215 budget places. In total, 184 places were allocated for admission to bachelor's and specialist programs, 20 places for admission to master's programs, 8 places for admission to postgraduate programs and 3 places for admission to residency programs.
The selection of candidates was carried out by a selection Working group (Commission) consisting of representatives of the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Joint Turkmen-Russian secondary school named after A. S. Pushkin, the Financial University under the Government of Russia, and the Lobachevsky national research Nizhny Novgorod state University. The Commission reviewed the portfolio of candidates uploaded on the Future in Russia portal.
