A telephone conversation took place today between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan. This is reported by the state news Agency of Turkmenistan.
After congratulating each other on the upcoming “Gurban bayramy” holiday, the interlocutors moved on to discuss key topics. Prospects for interstate relations based on the principles of mutual respect were discussed. In this regard, special attention was paid to the implementation of agreements reached earlier, including through the foreign ministries, as well as to the possibilities of diversifying partnership in various areas and developing new forms of active interaction.
The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates are steadily developing, characterized by a high level of mutual understanding and close cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan for his special attention and personal contribution to strengthening the Turkmen-Emirati relations and expanding the mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries.
The parties also exchanged views on issues of regional and global significance, touching upon the topic of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
At the end of the conversation, the interlocutors wished each other good health and success in all their endeavors, and peace and prosperity to the peoples of both countries.
