The inter-parliamentary friendship group of Turkmenistan and Romania held an online meeting today.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the foreign policy Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament and the Chairman of the Committee for the protection of human rights and freedoms of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, as well as deputies from the two countries.
During the meeting, the parliamentarians confirmed the parties ' focus on maintaining and developing mutually beneficial cooperation in all priority areas of mutual interest.
The sides discussed opportunities to expand multifaceted cooperation in the political and cultural fields, exchange knowledge and practice in order to further develop inter-parliamentary relations.
Special attention was paid to the resumption of regular contacts between parliamentarians of the two countries in online mode in view of the pandemic situation on a global scale, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
