The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan issued an appeal on its official website to citizens currently abroad.
If a citizen of Turkmenistan has lost his identity document, or this document has been stolen, damaged, or its validity period has been exhausted, as well as in cases of birth in a foreign country of a child who is a citizen of Turkmenistan, a certificate for return to the homeland is issued by the diplomatic mission or consular office of Turkmenistan abroad.
Due to circumstances beyond their control, the validity period of certificates of return to their homeland for citizens of Turkmenistan currently in foreign countries has been extended from 1 (one) to 6 (six) months.
When applying for a certificate, the applicant must have the following documents with them:
- Two color photos (size 3 x 4 cm);
- If available-a document that allows you to establish the identity of the applicant, his / her place of residence or location on the territory of Turkmenistan, contributing to the confirmation of his / her citizenship of Turkmenistan (service certificate with a photo, a certificate from the competent authorities of Turkmenistan, and so on);
- A citizen can apply to the embassies and consulates of Turkmenistan abroad by filling out a standard form.
