The Turkmen military took part in the Victory Parade on red square

Soldiers representing the armed forces of Turkmenistan took part in the parade on red square in Moscow dedicated to the 75th anniversary of victory in the great Patriotic war.

The banner group carried the National flag of Turkmenistan and the Battle flag of the 748th rifle regiment of the 206th rifle division, in which Berdimuhamed Annayev, the grandfather of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, fought, in two “Gaz M20 Pobeda” vehicles. 

In total, more than 14 thousand military personnel, more than 200 pieces of equipment and 75 aircraft participate in the parade. Military personnel from 13 foreign countries also participate in the parade: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The military delegation of Turkmenistan to Moscow was headed by the Minister of defense, major General Begench Gundogdyev.

During the great Patriotic war, soldiers from Turkmenistan demonstrated a high example of valor, heroism and loyalty to the Motherland. More than 70 thousand of them were awarded orders and medals. 104 Turkmen citizens were awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union, 15 became full holders of the order of Glory. Thousands of our countrymen have died in brutal battles. Our people surrounded the people evacuated from the frontline with brotherly care and worked selflessly. Turkmen women demonstrated high humanism by donating about 7,400 kilograms of gold and silver jewelry to the defense Fund.
