Bat Eden Kite as the new Israeli Ambassador to Turkmenistan will replace Moshe Kamhi, who completed his diplomatic mission in Ashgabat in January this year. This became known after the government of Israel approved the appointment of Bat Eden Kite as Ambassador to Turkmenistan.

Bat Eden Kite's previous position is Deputy Israeli Ambassador to the UN agencies in Vienna, the Jerusalem Post reports.

The Israeli government also approved the appointment of Amira Oron as Ambassador to Cairo. Thus, Amira Oron became the first woman to represent the Jewish state in Egypt, the foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"I welcome the appointment of two ambassadors," foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi said.

"These are experienced, professional and respected diplomats, and I am sure that they will contribute to the development of bilateral relations between the State of Israel and the countries to which they were appointed," he added.
