The foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan discussed the possibility of joining the legal documents of WIPO

Today, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a working meeting on expanding the legal framework of intellectual property of the country, which was attended by heads and representatives of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Ministries of Finance and economy, Education, Culture, Adalat and other relevant departments.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the need to develop cooperation with UN specialized agencies, in particular the world intellectual property organization (WIPO), in order to fulfill the tasks, set by the President of Turkmenistan on the introduction of modern technologies and innovations in all sectors of the national economy.

The expansion of such interaction is possible by joining some of the WIPO documents in order to ensure that Turkmenistan's activities in the field of intellectual property are carried out in accordance with international standards and requirements.

Therefore, in order to expand the legal base were discussed the issues of accession to the Treaty to facilitate access of the blind and individuals with visual impairments or other disabilities print disabled to published works (the Marrakesh Treaty) and the Convention on the protection of performers, producers of phonograms and broadcasting organizations (Rome Convention), the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
