Russian investors are upgrading the production Association “Maryazot”

At a Government meeting held today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved proposals from a number of joint-stock companies of the Russian Federation to modernize the “Maryazot” production Association.

As Deputy Prime Minister Shamuhammet Durdylyev announced in his report, representatives of Russian companies visited PA “Maryazot” got acquainted with the state of production facilities on the spot, gave a preliminary forecast of the availability of opportunities for bringing the enterprise to its design capacity. According to the recommendations, it is planned to carry out major repairs and reconstruction, equipping workshops for the production of ammonia, nitric acid, ammonium nitrate, as well as a chemical water treatment plant and other auxiliary facilities with technological equipment and spare parts. Performing these works will eliminate the need to import ammonium nitrate, allow production to reach its design capacity and produce new types of nitrogen fertilizers.

The design capacity of PA "Maryazot" the state concern "Turkmenhimiya" is designed to produce 450 thousand tons of ammonium nitrate per year. The company consists of two workshops for the production of ammonia. Due to the wear and tear of outdated technological equipment, major repairs and modernization of the main production facilities of the Association are necessary to bring them to their full capacity.

Carrying out the work at the expense of investments of Russian companies was stipulated in the Protocol of the 11th meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on economic cooperation, held in Ashgabat in May 2019.

In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the productive nature of cooperation with the Russian Federation, whose companies take an active part in projects implemented in Turkmenistan.

"Russia is our strategic partner. Today, our countries demonstrate a balanced approach to defining new formats of cooperation built on an equal and mutually beneficial basis," the head of state said, noting the activities of the intergovernmental Turkmen - Russian Commission on economic cooperation.

The growth in the volume of mutual trade shows the great potential of trade and economic partnership, the head of state stressed, instructing Deputy Prime Minister and foreign Minister Rashid Meredov to coordinate the work of the intergovernmental Commission, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
