In Turkmenabat, in the hall of celebrations of the Lebap velayat Department of culture, a solemn presentation of commemorative medals established in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945, and valuable gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to war and home front veterans was held. This is reported by today's issue of the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".
Representatives of the hyakimlik, party and public organizations, soldiers of the Turkmenabat garrison, education and health workers, elders and youth came to congratulate the participants of the war, their wives and home front workers.
A large concert program was prepared for the heroes of the celebration. It opened with the literary and musical composition "Let there be peace!" with the participation of artists of the velayat music and drama theater and singers of the special school of arts. Leading soloists and creative groups performed Patriotic songs and dance numbers. The songs of the front-line years performed by the military band of the Turkmenabat garrison were greeted with applause. At the end, the song "Live forever, heroes of the Motherland!" was played.
The presentation of commemorative medals took place in all cities and etraps of the Lebap velayat. Awards were awarded to 894 residents of the Eastern region of Turkmenistan.
