By Order of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan sent food and industrial products, as well as textiles and building materials to Russia, which is experiencing a coronavirus pandemic, the information program "Watan" of the Turkmen television reported.
According to the document the head of state, in the formation of these goods, which will be handed over to the Russian side free of charge "as a gesture of friendship and good-neighborliness" were part of the Ministry of industry and construction industry, Ministry of textile industry, Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection, the Ministry of trade and foreign economic relations, State concerns "Turkmenhimiya" and "Turkmengaz", the Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs, as well as the administration of Akhal, Lebap and Mary velayat.
According to Russian media, the above-mentioned products produced in Turkmenistan are intended for the Astrakhan region, which, like other regions of the Russian Federation, is fighting against the COVID-19 virus.
According to the Ministry of health, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the Astrakhan region is steadily growing. On the morning of May 5, there were 564 infected people in the region, and 6 people died.
