In 2020, Turkmenistan is scheduled to grow 224 thousand tons of sugar beet

224 thousand tons of sugar beet are planned to be harvested in Turkmenistan this year from 17,900 hectares of land allocated for this purpose. This is stated in the Decree signed today by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the information program "Watan" of the Turkmen television reported.

It is planned to harvest 24 thousand tons of sugar beet from 3,000 hectares in the Balkan velayat, and 200 thousand tons of crop from 14,900 hectares in the Mary velayat.

The document instructs the Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection and the hyakim’s of the Balkan and Mary velayats to ensure the production of sugar beet in the etraps of the above-mentioned regions using a scientifically based crop rotation.
