No cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Turkmenistan, said Galina Perfileva, official representative of the World Health Organization in Tajikistan, on the TV channel "Tajikistan", reports eadaily.com.

"Now the whole world is fighting Covid-19, there are almost no countries on the globe where there are no cases of the disease. Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are, in principle, the two countries remaining in the region out of 53 infected countries where Covid cases have not been registered," Perfileva said.

The representative of WHO called on the population to observe hygiene and refrain from visiting places of mass congestion.

“Russian Federal service for supervision of consumer rights protection and human welfare” handed over about 800 test systems to Turkmenistan and other countries of the near and far abroad. Using these tests, you can conduct 80 thousand studies.

An outbreak caused by a new coronavirus was recorded in late 2019 in Central China, spread to most countries of the world and was recognized by the world health organization as a pandemic.

Turkmenistan has taken serious measures to prevent the import of infection into the country, strengthened sanitary and epidemiological surveillance and medical control at all border and customs points equipped with thermal imagers, infrared and electronic thermometers, and conducted comprehensive preventive measures and awareness-raising activities.
