IIHF cancels men's 2020 World Championship in Luxembourg

The Council of the International ice hockey Federation (IIHF) announced the cancellation of the 2020 IIHF World Championship Division III in Luxembourg. This is reported on the official website of the organization. The World Championship was scheduled to take place from April 19 to 25 in Kockelscheuer city.

Turkmenistan men's national ice hockey team will have to compete at the 2020 IIHF World Championship Division III in Group A tournament. Turkmen hockey players had to compete for the Division II with the teams of Turkey, Luxembourg, Taiwan, DPR Korea and the United Arab Emirates.

The IIHF World Championship is held in several divisions depending on the teams ranking. The IIHF canceled all World Championships in all divisions, including the main tournament in Switzerland, which was to be held in Lausanne and Zurich from may 8 to 24.
