The Russian Embassy will take out Belarusian citizens temporarily staying on the territory of Turkmenistan. Such an agreement was reached between the embassies of Russia and Belarus to accept Belarusian citizens on Board an aircraft planning to fly from Ashgabat to Domodedovo airport (Moscow, approximately on March 24, 2020) for transit through the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Embassy in Turkmenistan reports.

Recall that the Embassy of the Russian Federation is working on the possibility of returning home its citizens temporarily located on the territory of Turkmenistan, in connection with the suspension of regular flights between the two countries from March 17, 2020.

According to official information from the government of Turkmenistan, as of March 23, 2020, there are no cases of COVID-19 coronavirus in the country.

The Embassy of Belarus also reminds that according to information received from the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, entry is allowed to persons traveling exclusively for diplomatic, official, humanitarian purposes, as well as those who already have multiple-entry visas of Turkmenistan.

As of March 17, 2020, the government of Turkmenistan has introduced new rules for foreign citizens entering the country, according to which those wishing to visit Turkmenistan must have a certificate of absence of COVID-19 coronavirus.

Citizens who do not have certificates are required to undergo a medical examination, during which they are checked for the presence of a virus in their blood. The time for obtaining results from the samples taken is usually from 8 to 12 hours.

If the test results are positive, the patient will be sent to quarantine, while the cost of carrying out quarantine measures is borne by the citizen himself or the organization to which he should be sent, the message of the Belarusian Embassy emphasizes.

The Embassy of Belarus also informs that according to the information received from the representative office of PC NAC “Belavia” in Ashgabat, the period of restriction of flights by the Belarusian air carrier on the route Minsk – Ashgabat – Minsk has been extended approximately until May 1, 2020. According to the international Department of Turkmenistan airlines, all international flights have been temporarily suspended from March 19 to April 30, 2020.

According to information received by the Belarusian Embassy, all previously planned mass events (exhibitions, fairs, sports events, matches, concerts, etc.) have been canceled or postponed in Turkmenistan.

In turn, in order for preventive measures to prevent disease of the employees of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus, the Embassy measures to ensure the personal hygiene of staff: reception of citizens is carried out in gloves, protective medical masks, and the entrance for visitors to the consular section mounted dispenser with disinfecting solution.

In order to prevent pneumonia, the Embassy of Belarus recommends that its citizens avoid close contact with people with symptoms of acute respiratory infections, as well as wash their hands with liquid soap and water, use alcohol-based antiseptics; conduct hand hygiene, especially before touching the mouth, nose or eyes and after contact with environmental objects (handrails, door handles); after coughing or sneezing; when sneezing or coughing, cover the mouth and nose with a paper napkin.
