Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Ashgabat Yerkebulan Sapiyev met with the Ministers of education and culture of Turkmenistan, the official website of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reports.
According to information, during the meeting of the Ambassador with the Minister of education of Turkmenistan Mamedmurad Geldyniyazov the sides discussed issues of current state and prospects of development of Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation in education and science. They also discussed topical issues of digitalization of education, exchange of experience, teachers and students, participation in school and student international Olympiads, and the conclusion of separate agreements between advanced higher education institutions of the two countries.
During the meeting with the Minister of culture of Turkmenistan Atageldy Shamuradov, the parties exchanged views and suggestions on further strengthening of relations between the two countries in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. In particular, they discussed issues of holding bilateral cultural events in 2020, including Days of culture of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan, expanding the legal framework for cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, as well as the implementation of possible joint projects in the field of culture.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan informed the interlocutors about the anniversary state events planned in 2020. In particular, Yerkebulan Sapiyev informed about Kazakhstan's intentions to mark two anniversaries on a large scale: the 1150th anniversary of the Eastern philosopher, scientist and thinker Al-Farabi and the 175th anniversary of the birth of the Kazakh educator and poet Abay Kunanbayev. The Ambassador invited the Turkmen side to join the celebration of these anniversaries.
