New international certificates were awarded to the world's first plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas, which was introduced in June of this year in the Akhal velayat. The relevant documents confirming the innovative nature of production at this plant were handed to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov today by the head of the famous Danish company "Haldor Topsoe" Bjorn Stefan Klausen, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

Expressing gratitude to the head of state for his time, the guest congratulated the head of state and the entire Turkmen people on the upcoming year 2020. As noted by Bjorn Stefan Klausen, Turkmenistan has achieved tremendous success in all areas, including in the fuel and energy sector.

So, the Federation of power industry of the Kingdom of Denmark noted the high level of environmental standards implemented at the plant, resulting in minimal emission of carbon dioxide, no sulfur, harmful metals, and the strict requirements on the content of aromatic and olefinic hydrocarbons in the product, and the Academy of chemical engineers UK (IChemE) – improvement of the technology TIGAS (production of synthetic petrol from natural gas).

The certificate of the largest organization IChemE, founded in 1922 as a professional institution for chemical engineers and technologists, was awarded as the winner of the Global nomination "Oil and gas-2019".

TIGAS technology was developed by the company “Haldor Topsoe” for the natural gas gasoline production plant in Akhal velayat, which allows to produce high quality gasoline with the lowest energy consumption and minimal impact on the environment in combination with highly efficient catalysts.

Thanking for kind message and documents, testifying the international recognition of the scale of works carried out by Turkmenistan in the energy sphere, the President stressed that in recent years’ economic development strategy of the country is focused on diversifying the oil and gas sector, expansion of its infrastructure due to the creation of modern industries.

In this aspect, the priority for us is the processing of natural gas and the production of new environmentally friendly products, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov continued, noting that concrete steps are being taken in this direction.

Currently, the fuel and energy complex is being diversified, modern production facilities are being built and put into operation for the production of oil and gas products that are in great demand on the world market. Vivid examples of this are the gas chemical complex in the village of kiyanli of the Balkan velayat, the plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas in the Akhal velayat and others.

These large enterprises contribute to the large-scale industrialization of the country's regions, increasing the power of the Turkmen economy through the production of export-oriented goods. By implementing such unprecedented projects, we are creating the necessary conditions for turning our country into one of the effective centers of the green economy, the head of state stressed.

As noted during the meeting, the plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas in the Akhal velayat in many respects is the only one of its kind. At this enterprise, natural gas is converted to liquid fuel on an industrial scale. The GTG (gas-to-gasoline) project is being implemented in Turkmenistan for the first time in the world at the industrial level.

In our country, when implementing large investment projects, special attention is paid to the environmental component. It should be noted that each of the large industrial complexes put into operation in recent years has been awarded international certificates confirming their compliance with generally accepted standards of environmental protection.

Thus, the plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas in Akhal velayat, included in the Guinness Book of records in the nomination "the world's First plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas", was noted as one of the successful projects in terms of ecology.

This modern complex is equipped with the latest technologies and equipment from world-famous manufacturers from the USA, Great Britain, France, Holland, Sweden, Japan, Korea, India and other countries.

Annually, the company plans to process 1 billion 785 million cubic meters of "blue fuel", from which 600 thousand tons of gasoline of the brand ECO-93, corresponding to the EURO-5 standard, as well as 12 thousand tons of diesel fuel and 115 thousand tons of liquefied gas are produced.

The use of unique technologies for waste disposal distinguishes this industrial facility as an environmentally friendly production in the world. In particular, the complex is marked with the Certificate "Ecologically clean" and the corresponding sign of the environmental protection Fund of the United States of America.

The implementation of this unprecedented project was, on the one hand, an important milestone in the development of the national economy, and on the other – a real investment in the infrastructure of the entire Eurasian region. This is confirmed by the award of the certificate "Innovative technologies" of the Energy Department of the Swiss Federal Institute of technology to the plant…

During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views was held on the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the context of the implementation of the program of development of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan for the period up to 2030.

Within its framework, the head of state noted, it is envisaged to implement measures aimed at further increasing the production capacity of the industry, which is closely related to ensuring the energy security of the country, the goals of sustainable economic development at the global and regional levels. This, in turn, requires increasing the efficiency of work on oil and gas fields with the use of advanced technologies.

Noting the existence of prospects for increasing cooperation with Turkmenistan, the head of "Haldor Topsoe" confirmed the interest of the company headed by him in further cooperation.

In this aspect, issues related to the use of environmentally friendly technologies at the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan, as well as joint research and exchange of specialists were discussed.
