Foreign Ministers Rashid Meredov and Abdulaziz Kamilov discussed preparations for the upcoming visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan in Ashgabat, Uzbek media reported.
"Special attention was paid to the activation of interregional cooperation, strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties, including through the restoration of direct air route Tashkent-Ashgabat, the establishment of bus service between the regional centers of the two countries, the simplification of the order of mutual trips of citizens – the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Thanks to the firm political will of the leaders of the two countries, there is an unprecedented intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. According to the results of the first half of the year, the trade turnover between the countries amounted to 257 million us dollars, which is 2.8 times more than in the same period of the previous year, the information of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.
