In “Avaza” at the end of the CEF-2019 held a briefing for media representatives

Following the results of the first Caspian Economic Forum 2019, a briefing for media representatives was held in "Avaza", which summarized the main topics of discussion, conclusions about the available opportunities for enhancing cooperation, as well as an objective assessment of the multifaceted investment potential of the region.

According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, the briefing highlighted the importance of the idea of holding the CEF-2019, which has become a platform for bringing cooperation between the countries of the Caspian region to a qualitatively new level, as well as an instrument of economic growth in the region and beyond.

It was also noted that the meetings of the Ministers of the countries participating in the Agreement between the governments of the Caspian states on trade and economic cooperation and the Agreement between the governments of the Caspian states on cooperation in the field of transport, initiated by the head of Turkmenistan, contribute to the further strengthening and development of cooperation of coastal States in these areas.

At the same time, the need for capacity-building in the field of trade and investment policy and trade facilitation in the Caspian region was stressed.

At the briefing, it was reported that the countries of the Caspian region and all stakeholders, including the private sector, associations, and academia, intend to maintain an active dialogue on the development of best practices and measures to ensure the development of economic contacts.

It was also noted that the objectives and concrete steps to increase the attractiveness of the economies of the Caspian countries were clearly defined at the CEF-2019, which was set by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as one of the main conditions for further active integration of the region into the international economic space.

The parties also agreed to encourage investment and stimulate innovation in the energy, industrial, transport, trade and other sectors of the economies of the Caspian States.

Activities are planned to further strengthen regional cooperation in such areas as socio-economic development, environmental protection, science and innovation, and the exchange of economic information.

In addition, the determination of the participating countries to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the countries of the Caspian region and the United Nations, including the UN regional commissions, was called an important point.

One of the main results was the decision to hold the Caspian economic forum on a regular basis in the coastal cities of the Caspian States. Following the results of the first Caspian Economic Forum, a Statement was prepared.
