Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov will pay a state visit to Kazakhstan on November 24-25. This was announced by Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov at a cabinet meeting, according to the "Watan" news program on Turkmen television.
The Foreign Minister noted that the consistent development of traditional friendly dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation with neighboring countries is one of the priority vectors of Turkmenistan's foreign policy strategy. Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan were established in October 1992.
Meredov emphasized that the fruitful interstate partnership is demonstrating positive momentum and encompassing a wide range of areas. A legal framework for cooperation has been established, enshrined in 180 bilateral documents.
The minister noted that regular mutual visits and high-level meetings play a key role in strengthening Turkmen-Kazakh relations. Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan effectively cooperate within reputable international organizations, primarily the UN, supporting each other's constructive initiatives.
Trade and economic cooperation is actively developing, and mutual trade volumes are increasing. Deepening traditional cultural and humanitarian ties is also of great importance, the Foreign Minister emphasized.
Following his report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Kazakhstan is one of Turkmenistan's close partners, and that the two countries maintain friendly and brotherly relations. The head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to prepare appropriately for the upcoming visit.
