On November 20, the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Herat, Afghanistan, held a gala event to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality. The event, held in the conference hall of the “Arg” hotel, was part of the International Year of Peace and Trust, the Consulate General's press service told Turkmenportal.

The event was attended by the Governor of Herat Province, representatives of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, heads of consular offices, and representatives of the Turkmen diaspora in Herat and Badghis Provinces.

Participants noted the importance of international recognition of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. It was emphasized that its neutral status allows the country to make a significant contribution to strengthening peace and security, developing mutual understanding between states and peoples, promoting partnerships, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event included videos about the 30th anniversary of neutrality and an exhibition showcasing the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people. The event concluded with a feast of Turkmen national cuisine.
