The A.S. Pushkin State Russian Drama Theater delighted young Ashgabat residents with a new production, "Ali Baba."
This is the second directorial work by Kerim Atayev, known to Pushkin Theater audiences as a wonderful actor and dancer. His first work was the lyrical play "These Free Butterflies," reports "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."

Actors Magtymguly Kurbanov and Anna Hommadova play the roles of Ali Baba and Zeynab, Merdan Nurmuhammedov plays the bandit chieftain, Viktor Raut plays the comical bandit Akhmed, and Mikhail Rogov embodies the greedy and treacherous Kasym.
The extras and production designer Yusup Shikhdurdyev helped create a colorful Eastern ambiance with their vibrant costumes and fiery dances, the source notes.
