Universities from Central Asian countries participated in a series of working meetings dedicated to the analysis and evaluation of the implementation of the “Circular Economy and Sustainable Development” course in the region's university curricula.
The events were held within the framework of the international project "Development of innovative educational programs and modules on the circular economy and sustainable development."
The Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management and the Turkmen State Institute of Finance, which are partners of the project and are participating in its implementation, took an active part in the events.
The main objective of the meetings was to summarize the implementation of new educational modules, discuss their integration into curricula, and exchange experiences between universities in Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
The working sessions were held at partner universities in the region: Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz (Kazakhstan), Westminster International University in Tashkent, and the University of Central Asia (Uzbekistan), as well as the Tajik State University of Commerce and the Tajik Technical University (Tajikistan). During the discussions, university representatives presented interim results of the implementation of academic disciplines, shared experiences, and discussed achievements and prospects for further improvement of the educational modules.
Turkmenistan was represented at the meetings by Arslan Matkarimov, a lecturer in the Digital Economy Department of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management; Shohrat Bashimov, a senior lecturer in the Finance Department of the Turkmen State Institute of Finance; and Rustam Gadzhiev, an employee of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
The final round of meetings focused on exchanging proposals and developing recommendations aimed at improving the effectiveness of project implementation, strengthening academic cooperation, and further developing educational programs in the field of circular economy and sustainable development in the region.
