Turkmen football club “Ahal” drew 2:2 with Iranian “Sepahan” in an away match of the 4th round of the AFC Champions League 2 group stage and lost the chance to advance to the tournament playoffs.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 9th minute thanks to a goal by Arash Rezavand. Midway through the first half, “Ahal” forward Suleiman Mirzoyev equalized. In the 62nd minute, Turkmen club defender Bakhtiyar Gurgenov gave the visitors the lead, but “Ahal” was soon left with one man down after defender Azat Rakhmanov was sent off. In the final seconds, Mohammad Askari tied the game at 2-2.
After four rounds, “Ahal” is last in group C with one point. Jordan's “Al Hussein” leads with six points, while “Sepahan” is second with four points.
