Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory message to Sanae Takaichi on her election as Prime Minister of Japan, the website of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

"The head of state expressed confidence that the friendly relations established between Turkmenistan and Japan, based on the principles of mutual understanding, equality, and trust, will continue to develop through joint efforts for the sake of a bright future for our peoples," the statement said.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the new Japanese Prime Minister good health and happiness, as well as success in his work aimed at the progress and prosperity of the Japanese people.
