Turkmenistan and the Dutch company Van Oord, a global leader in dredging and marine engineering, are exploring opportunities for cooperation in developing the maritime infrastructure of the Turkmenbashy International Seaport. This was reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium following a meeting between Ambassador Sapar Palvanov and Van Oord Director Paul Wortmeyer.
As noted, the conversation focused on the Turkmenbashy International Seaport, prospects for cooperation in the field of maritime infrastructure, and possible joint projects in Turkmenistan.
Following the meeting, Wortmeyer expressed his intention to visit Turkmenistan to participate in the annual International Oil and Gas Conference OGT-2025, which will be held October 22-24 in Ashgabat.
Van Oord specializes in complex dredging operations, offshore construction, and coastal infrastructure. The company has completed projects in over 100 countries worldwide.
