President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent deep condolences to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in connection with the tragic incident at the New Year’s fair in Magdeburg, which resulted in human casualties and injuries, TDH reports.

“On behalf of the people, the Government of Turkmenistan and himself personally, the head of state expressed words of sincere sympathy and support to the families and friends of the deceased at this difficult moment, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured,” the statement said.

Last Friday evening, a car drove into a crowd at the Christmas fair in Magdeburg. As a result of the attack, five people were killed and more than 200 were injured.
