1. The national air carrier of Turkmenistan announced the launch of regular passenger flights from Ashgabat to Bangkok from December 22. They will be carried out every Friday and Saturday. The sale of air tickets at the ticket offices of Turkmenistan and on the Turkmenistan airlines website will begin in the near future.
2. Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS, Ivana Zivkovic, will visit Turkmenistan for the first time on December 10-12 to participate in the International Forum “Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace” in Ashgabat, where she will speak on behalf of the organization. During the visit, Zivkovic is scheduled to meet with senior government officials to discuss prospects for the development of the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and UNDP in the field of healthcare, digital transformation and social protection.
3. A wide range of textile products with New Year's symbols have been produced in Turkmenistan. On the eve of the holidays, you can purchase souvenirs, bedding sets and clothing at the capital's “Altyn Asyr” Marketing Center. The products are decorated with New Year paraphernalia - Christmas tree decorations, snowflakes, images of the symbol of the coming 2024 - the Green Dragon.
4. Mobile operator “Altyn Asyr” has launched subscriber numbers with a new code – “71”. Previously, TM-CELL subscribers could purchase numbers with codes 61, 62, 63, 64 and 65. According to company representatives, the appearance of an additional code is dictated by the growing demand for mobile communication services in the country. You can purchase SIM cards with numbers with the code “71” at all operator offices for a price of 10 manats.
5. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamurat Geldimyradov presented a report on the country’s macroeconomic indicators for 11 months of this year at a regular government meeting. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, sustainable development is being ensured in all sectors of the economy and regions, and the social and living standards of the population are increasing. This is confirmed by GDP growth, which during the reporting period amounted to 6,3%.

6. The annual lighting ceremony of the largest New Year tree in the world was held in the Italian city of Gubbio. The tree is a light installation on the southern slope of Mount Ingino. The Christmas tree covers an area of three football fields and reaches a height of 900 meters. Lighting it requires more than 7,5 kilometers of cable. The first illuminated tree in Gubbio was installed in 1981. In 1991, she was included in the Guinness World Records.
7. Sports car manufacturer Lamborghini has announced a move to a four-day work week. The company became the first automaker in the world to make such a decision after negotiations with trade unions. Under the new schedule, workers working two shifts will alternate between a five-day week and a four-day week. As a result, their number of working days will be reduced by 22 per year.
