The venue for the match of the preliminary round of the AFC Cup-2023/24 in the Central zone between “Merv” from Turkmenistan and “Alay” from Kyrgyzstan has been determined.

The teams will play on Tuesday, August 15, at the “Sports toplumy” stadium in the city of Mary, Mary velayat of Turkmenistan, which can accommodate 10 thousand spectators, reports the official website of the AFC.

The winner of the preliminary round at the playoff stage will meet with “Khujand” from Tajikistan. This meeting will be held on August 22 at the stadium “20th Anniversary of Independence of Tajikistan” in Khujand. The AFC Cup preliminary round and play-off matches will consist of one game.

In case of success at the preliminary stage and the playoff stage of the AFC Cup, the football club “Merv” will have the right to play in the group stage of the tournament in the Central zone, together with the clubs “Ravshan” (Tajikistan), “Altyn Asyr” (Turkmenistan) and “Abdysh- Ata” (Kyrgyzstan).

The group round of the 2023/24 AFC Cup in the Central Zone will begin on September 20 and end on December 14. Only the winner of the group will advance to the next stage of the tournament.
