Construction and equipment of special facilities for decontamination of cargo and vehicles at checkpoints on the Turkmen-Iranian border is planned to be completed by the end of May. This was stated at a briefing held today in the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on the efforts being made in our country to improve the national health system in General, and, in particular, to prevent the import and spread of coronavirus infection.

"In the near future, similar work will be carried out on the Turkmen-Afghan border," the state news Agency of Turkmenistan said in a statement.

As noted, since the beginning of the development of a situation that may pose a threat to sanitary well-being in Turkmenistan, sanitary and quarantine supervision has been strengthened at the country's entry points. In particular, restrictions were imposed on the entry and exit of certain types of transport, including land, river and sea. Currently, only cargo transport is carried out at the entry points.

Persons accompanying cargo, goods on road, sea and railway transport, when crossing the state border, must be placed on observation mode for 14 days with a survey on COVID-19, it was emphasized at a briefing in the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Despite the current difficult situation in the world, Turkmenistan did not allow the dangerous infection to enter its territory.
