For the first time, the China – Turkmenistan container train, consisting of 44 forty-foot containers with General cargo, transited through Kazakhstan. This is reported by the publication "BT", referring to the press release of the national railway company of Kazakhstan "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ).
The train started from China's Jinan Nan and then went through the Kazakhstan border crossings of Khorgos, Altynkol and Bolashak to the Turkmen station of Gypjak. The total travel time from the point of departure to the destination is 8 days.
Container service has the advantages of quickly delivering cargo from China to Turkmenistan. The new communication will open up additional opportunities for trade and economic cooperation and will contribute to increasing the volume of cargo flows, the Kazakhstan railway company emphasizes.
