Ambassador of Kenya Accredited in Turkmenistan

On the instruction of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, D. Gulmanova, accepted the credentials of the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kenya to Turkmenistan, John Maina Mwangi. The State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports this.

The head of the Turkmen parliament congratulated the diplomat on the appointment and wished him success in strengthening interstate relations. The ambassador, in turn, conveyed greetings and best wishes to the President of Turkmenistan from his country's leadership.

During the meeting, the ambassador was briefed on Turkmenistan’s foreign policy course and the country’s international initiatives in the sphere of sustainable development. It was noted that Turkmenistan is interested in developing cooperation with countries on the African continent. The ambassador was also informed about the structure and activities of the Mejlis regarding the improvement of national legislation.

The parties reaffirmed their readiness to step up cooperation, both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of the UN and other international organizations.

Kenyan Ambassador John Maina Mwangi described it as a great honor to represent his country in Turkmenistan and pledged to make every effort to strengthen bilateral relations.
