A delegation from Kazakhstan, led by the republic's Foreign Minister Ermek Kosherbayev, has arrived in Turkmenistan for a two-day official visit, the MIC reports.
Kazakhstani diplomats were welcomed at Ashgabat International Airport by Serdar Muhammetdurdyyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The first day of the visit was dedicated to a cultural program.
Immediately upon arrival, the delegation headed to Lachyn Park, where Kosherbayev took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to the Kazakh poet and thinker Abai Kunanbayev. The monument in Ashgabat symbolizes the bonds of friendship between the two peoples.
Next, the representatives from Kazakhstan visited the Independence Monument of Turkmenistan and laid a basket of flowers at its base.
In the evening, the guests visited the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, where they were given a tour showcasing archaeological finds and materials reflecting the ethnographic heritage and history of the Turkmen people.
The delegation led by Kosherbayev included heads of key departments of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
