Turkmen schoolchildren entered the top 20 at a robotics competition in the Netherlands

Turkmen schoolchildren, as part of the Oguzrobot team, placed in the top 20 at the FIRST Tech Challenge European Premier Event 2026 international robotics competition, held in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. This was reported by the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium.

The competition final, held June 16–20 at the Indoor-Sportcentrum Eindhoven, featured 105 teams from 33 countries. The event was organized by the Dutch organization STEAMup, a partner of the FIRST Tech Challenge in the Benelux region.

The team included students from school No. 97 in Ashgabat: Durdane Kurbanova, Ogulay Kulyeva, Oraznyyaz Rejepov, Nepesaly Tachmyradov and Nuraly Kerimov. The team was led by mentor Gurban Seitgulyev.

The team won the right to compete in the European finals following the results of the FIRST Tech Challenge Central Asia 2026 competition in Astana.

Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Belgium, Sapar Palvanov, received the schoolchildren at the embassy and congratulated them on their successful performance. He noted that the achievements of Turkmen youth in robotics, engineering, and programming demonstrate the growing interest of the younger generation in science and modern technology.
