UN General Assembly Resolution 80/262 "The Role and Significance of the Policy of Neutrality in Maintaining and Strengthening International Peace, Security and Sustainable Development," initiated by Turkmenistan, has been published in the six official languages of the UN, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

The resolution became the first UN document adopted under a separate agenda item devoted to issues of neutrality.

The document aims to further strengthen the role of neutrality policy in maintaining international peace, security, and sustainable development, and also provides for a number of new practical initiatives to develop preventive diplomacy, mediation, and international cooperation under the auspices of the UN.

The publication of a resolution in all official UN languages completes the formal process of formalising the document after its adoption by the General Assembly and ensures its wide dissemination among UN Member States.
