Turkmenistan and Malaysia discussed customs cooperation

On June 9, a meeting was held in Malaysia between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Muhammetniyaz Mashalov, and the Head of the Customs Department of the country, Amran Ahmad. The negotiations were attended by the heads of the relevant departments of the Malaysian department and the second secretary of the Turkmen embassy, Sahedov.

The parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for their development in the trade, economic, and customs spheres. The Turkmen side proposed to expand the exchange of experience between the customs services of the two countries and intensify work on the draft Memorandum of Understanding in the field of customs cooperation between the governments of Turkmenistan and Malaysia.

During the meeting, the possibility of signing a document during the upcoming official visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Turkmenistan was discussed. The Malaysian side reported that a draft memorandum with comments and suggestions has been sent to the country's relevant legal bodies and authorized agencies, and expressed its readiness to provide a response as soon as possible.

The negotiations took place in an atmosphere of openness and mutual understanding.
