Lebap farmers plan to harvest 19,6 tons of potatoes and 22,5 tons of onions this season

This year, 1 400 hectares of land in the Lebap velayat have been allocated for spring potato planting, with a planned harvest of 19 600 tons. 900 hectares of land have been allocated for spring onion cultivation, with a harvest of 22 500 tons expected this season.

Farmers aim to harvest 140 centners of potatoes per hectare and are currently carefully tending to them, which promotes normal crop growth and increases yields, reports "Turkmenistan: Golden Age." In Chardzhev etrap, potatoes were planted on 380 hectares this spring, with a projected yield of 5,320 tons. In Danev etrap, 4,200 tons are planned for harvest from 300 hectares, while in Sayat and Kerki etraps, yields of 2,800 and 2,100 tons are expected from 200 and 150 hectares, respectively.

Regional farmers also aim to harvest up to 250 centners of onions per hectare planted. Vegetable growers in the Dovletli and Chardzhev districts are particularly successful in this regard. This season, they planted 260 and 250 hectares of spring onions, aiming to harvest 6,500 and 6,250 tons, respectively.
