Apple is preparing at least four new artificial intelligence features for iOS 27

Apple reportedly intends to significantly expand the capabilities of its Apple Intelligence system in an upcoming update to its mobile operating system. iOS 27, scheduled to be unveiled at WWDC in June 2026, is likely to introduce at least four new Apple Intelligence features built into the system's default apps. These features were discovered in the code by developer Nicholas Alvarez, and MacRumors confirmed the information.

Visual Intelligence technology is expected to gain two new features. The first will allow scanning nutrition labels on food products, presumably with integration into the Health app. The second will enable the recognition of printed phone numbers and addresses for subsequent addition to Contacts. It's worth noting that similar camera use cases are already partially implemented in the current version of iOS—for example, adding events to Calendar by hovering over a poster or flyer.

The Apple Wallet app could gain the ability to generate digital passes based on scanned event tickets or gym memberships. Safari, meanwhile, could gain a feature that automatically names tab groups based on their contents.

MacRumors notes that the features discovered in the code may not work exactly as described, and their appearance in the final version of iOS 27 is not guaranteed.

It was also revealed that Apple plans to enable third-party AI models to connect to Siri in iOS 27—not only from Google (the assistant has been running on Gemini since January 2026), but also from other companies, including Anthropic. Furthermore, Siri will be taught to recognize multiple commands within a single request.
