On May 21, a joint concert of the State Academic Ensemble of Georgian Folk Song and Dance Rustavi and masters of culture and art of Turkmenistan will be held in the capital’s Vatan Cinema and Concert Center. The speech was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan together with the Embassy of Georgia in Turkmenistan.
Founded in 1968, Rustavi has been the leading vocal group in Georgia since its inception. At its origins stood Anzor Erkomaishvili - an outstanding professional in the field of folk music, singer and folklorist.
Each ensemble singer owns the art of Georgian polyphony, both as a soloist and as a member of the choir. Representatives of various regions of Georgia sing in Rustavi, and the ensemble’s repertoire includes the melodies of these lands, with a unique sound characteristic only for them. The ensemble “Rustavi” masterfully performs wedding and military dances, lyrical, ceremonial, and incendiary solo numbers.
The concert will take place on May 21, 2019 at 19.00. Vatan Cinema and Concert Center, Ashgabat.
Free admission.
