Not everyone can boast of a large house or apartment with spacious rooms. Most rooms are medium to small in size with standard ceilings of 2,5 to 3 meters. One of the ways to expand the space of a room is to demolish the walls, but this method is the most time-consuming and costly, and not always possible, since demolishing a load-bearing wall is very dangerous. Fortunately, there are many ways to create the illusion of a larger space without resorting to drastic changes.

The easiest way to visually enlarge the space of a small room is with the help of color. Many people know that light colors make the room visually larger, while dark ones, on the contrary, seem to compress the walls and lower the ceiling. If you decorate the walls in light pastel colors, you immediately get a feeling of more spaciousness. Light and cold shades help in this especially well: pale blue, pale lilac, menthol. And if you paint both the walls and the ceiling in one such shade, then the effect of spaciousness will become even more noticeable.

If the choice is made in favor of wallpaper, and not plain walls, then preference should be given to wallpaper with a small discreet pattern. Large patterns of saturated colors “steal” the space, so these wallpapers look good in fairly large rooms.

A vertical strip on the wallpaper can visually stretch too low ceilings, and a horizontal strip can expand the walls.

Parquet or laminate laid in a herringbone or diagonal pattern, as well as linoleum with such a pattern, will also help to “stretch” the space of the room. With the help of flooring, a narrow room can be “expanded” by laying the laminate across, or vice versa - lengthen with the help of laminate boards laid along. Another way to visually enlarge the space is a glossy flooring, while matte, on the contrary, “compresses” it.

A large floor-to-ceiling mirror or mirror mosaic on the wall perfectly creates the illusion of a large space, even in small rooms. And if you place a floor lamp near the mirror, its reflected light will further enhance this effect.

You can also create the illusion of space with the help of doors. High, ceiling-mounted doors made of glass or PVC with glass will visually raise the low ceiling, and sliding doors will help save space.

Anyk Teklip, a manufacturer of products made of aluminum, PVC and glass, including tempered glass, can help in the implementation of some of the above ideas for the visual expansion of space. The company's specialists will manufacture glass or plastic interior doors according to the customer's project, decorate the wall with mirror mosaics or make wide stylish mirrors of any shape and elegant kitchen glass “aprons”.
