Turkmen racers Merdan and Shokhrat Toylyev in a Nissan Patrol became winners of the international rally-marathon "Silk Way" in the off-road class T2 category.
The final 11th stage of the rally took place on July 22 along the route Kosh-Agach - Gorno-Altaisk. The length of the special stage was 131,29 km.
The crew of the Toylyev brothers from the Ministry of Motor Transport of Turkmenistan finished with a total result of 47 hours 18 minutes 7 seconds, ahead of their compatriots Meylis Abdullaev and Italmaz Charyev (also Nissan Patrol), who took second place. Next came Maksatmyrat Danatarov and Didar Orazmedov (Nissan Patrol).
The decisive moment of the race was the ninth stage, when Danatarov, who was leading the overall standings, was unable to overcome the special stage and received a penalty of 21 hours. This allowed Merdan Toylyev to take the lead and hold first place until the finish.
The “Silk Way” rally-raid 2025 took place from July 12 to 22 in Russia and Mongolia. The start was given in Irkutsk, the finish was in Gorno-Altaisk. Three teams took part in the T2 serial SUV category – all representatives of the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan.
